Impact Storytellers

Impact Storytellers is an immersive international documentary filmmaking program for emerging filmmakers who want to create meaningful stories while gaining real-world production experience.
Travel. Collaborate. Create.
We offer immersive, hands-on documentary experiences where participants travel to communities around the world and collaborate with local changemakers to create powerful, authentic documentary films.
Working in small production teams, participants take on real industry roles such as producer, director, cinematographer and editor, producing a short documentary, 30-minutes or more in length that highlights impactful stories and initiatives whilst allowing them to be featured in global film festivals.
Unlike traditional film education that focuses on theory, Impact Storytellers is built around learning through real-world experience. Participants develop skills in storytelling, interviewing, cinematography, directing, editing and ethical filmmaking practices while working closely with communities and mentors.
Our programs prioritise cultural collaboration and meaningful engagement. Participants live and work within local communities, developing deeper understanding, empathy and authentic connections while producing films that reflect real voices and lived experiences.
Impact Storytellers exists to develop a new generation of filmmakers who use storytelling as a tool for connection, understanding and meaningful change.
Beyond the program, participants can opt to receive further mentorship and guidance, supporting their growth as documentary filmmakers and storytellers committed to creating positive global impact.
At the end of each program, documentaries are screened within the local community and submitted to international film festivals and distribution platforms, giving participants the opportunity to share their work globally while amplifying the voices of changemakers.
